Workshop Team Leader- URGENT REQUIREMENT

Class 1 personnel Ltd are looking to recruit a Workshop Team Leader for one of our clients.
The role will be based at Elmbridge and will be tasked to remote manage other locations.
Main Purpose
· To repair all types of plant and equipment when required
· To cost effectively maintain and repair all required vehicles and equipment
· To work safely both individually or with others
Size and scope: The company comprises 4 depots with a fleet of approximately 150 waste collection and street cleansing vehicles. There are 3 account workshops that employ a team of 9 fitters who are responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of these vehicles.
This position will primarily be based out of the Elmbridge Depot/Workshop, but is not limited to this location. The successful applicant will be expected to travel to, and work from, different depots/workshops as part of their normal duties. Transportation will be provided in these instances.
Responsibilities
· A cost effective repair is carried out within budget
· To ensure that all documentation, Work Orders, service sheets are completed and returned to the workshop office for approval, signature and filing
· To ensure that all tooling and equipment used complies with current legislation and certification
· Maintenance of a tidy bench and working area
· All aspects of health and Safety are adhered to
· The QA policy is understood
· First time repair of vehicles and equipment
· Up to date competency for the repair of vehicles
· None conformances at QA audits
· To be a qualified fitter
· Experience repairing a wide variety of plant and equipment
· Diagnostic ability to identify problems, find solutions and repair detected defects when required

Role Specific Responsibilities
· Carry out repairs to a safe and compliant standard
· Complete compliance documents as required
· Keep workshop clean and tidy at all times whilst working
· Move vehicles to and from 3rd party repair centres
· Communicate with individuals at all levels (drivers, managers, compliance experts etc.)
· Fault finding and root cause analysis
· Liaise with parts suppliers as appropriate

· Educated to City and Guilds or NVQ levels as appropriate
· To be trained to City and Guilds or NVQ level in the repair of vehicles and equipment
