Marketing Communications Specialist

Job Description



The Marketing Communications department is responsible for creating and disseminating a clear, concise Ranpak message. The constituencies for this message are internal (employees) and external (current and prospective customers and distributors.) The coordinator will insure that Ranpak is portrayed in a positive and professional manner, and that projects, objectives, initiatives and accomplishments are clearly communicated.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Solicit contributions, write articles, edit, layout, design, publish and distribute distributor newsletters as appropriate
  • Solicit contributions, write articles, edit, layout, design, publish and distribute quarterly employee newsletter
  • Create and distribute other updates as appropriate


Public Relations

  • Press Releases- Draft, edit, review, circulate for approval and disseminate copies to Ranpak staff
  • Identify, edit and draft Case Studies as appropriate
  • Locate and track references of Ranpak in publications


Advertising (As Appropriate)

  • Coordinate activities and message with advertising agency
  • Communicate placements and insertions
  • Draft designs for new ad layouts and programs
  • Insure placement and accurate listing in directories, brochures and buyer’s guides


Trade Shows

  • Manage trade show program from beginning to end
  • Schedule events and activities
  • Make room and entertainment arrangements
  • Communicate schedules to individuals involved, provide credentials and registration
  • Create and track orders for materials, including booth, machines, paper, promotional items and literature


Literature/Collateral Materials

  • Track inventory, insure availability to field
  • Develop and provide direct mail or e-mail campaigns to prospective customers, track results
  • Develop new product launch kits for customers and field
  • Review/edit to keep literature up to date and current, insure that updates & changes are posted to new print runs
  • Reorder items as necessary, consolidate orders for budget purposes where possible
  • Distribute copies of new pieces to distributors and field sales, communicate changes as applicable
  • Draft design, layout and content for new literature pieces
  • Responsibilities for literature apply to all collateral materials, including videos, photos, binders, CD’s, boxes
  • Maintain, update and distribute distributor reference manual, gaining approvals as needed
  • Maintain, update and distribute sales manual, gaining approvals as needed
  • Provide additional sales tools to field as needed



  • Maintain Ranpak web site by updating existing content and/or working with the web site provider
  • Maintain Intranet by updating existing documents (Reference Manual, Sales and Marketing Telephone Directory, Territory List and Territory Map)
  • Monitor and report on website tracking
  • Implement search engine optimization tools/techniques
  • Plan and maintain Ranpak’s social media presence




  • Manage and maintain employee store, including development and publication of order form, solicitation, invoicing, collection and fulfillment of employee orders, track and maintain inventory, order and receive goods
  • Distributor merchandise- track requests, solicit approvals and fill orders
  • Insure that stocks are maintained


Incentive Trips/Awards Meetings/Miscellaneous Events

  • Plan and coordinate National Sales Meeting(s)
  • Select destination, make all reservations, schedule activities, track budget, communicate with resort and travel agent
  • Plan and coordinate any miscellaneous events as needed


Video and Photography

  • Create and maintain photographic asset inventory
  • Develop system for tracking and sharing digital assets (photo and video)
  • Coordinate photo and video shoots with external resources
  • Provide high resolution photos for distributor web sites/catalogs
  • Take and edit in-house product development photos and videos


Other Duties

  • Assist in budget development and reconciliation process
  • Work with European counterparts on global projects
  • Support product development efforts as needed
  • Other marketing communication issues as required
  • As assigned by Supervisor.





  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be a team player and interact with staff at all levels of the company
  • InDesign and Photoshop experience required
