Purpose of the Role

To provide operational leadership and management within Children's Social Care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective services to children, young people, and families.

The Team Manager will oversee a team of social workers, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and promoting positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Leadership & Management

* Lead, manage, and supervise a team of qualified social workers

* Provide reflective supervision, guidance, and performance management

* Ensure staff adhere to policies, procedures, and statutory requirements

* Support staff development, training, and continuous improvement

🔹 Service Delivery

* Oversee caseload allocation and workload management

* Ensure timely and high-quality assessments, care planning, and interventions

* Monitor performance against KPIs and service standards

* Drive improvement in practice and service delivery

🔹 Safeguarding & Compliance

* Ensure all safeguarding responsibilities are met

* Oversee complex and high-risk cases

* Ensure compliance with legislation, frameworks, and inspection standards (e.g. Ofsted)

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records

🔹 Multi-Agency Working

* Work collaboratively with:

* Health services

* Education providers

* Police and safeguarding partners

* Represent the service in strategy meetings, case conferences, and reviews

🔹 Quality Assurance

* Audit casework and provide feedback

* Ensure best practice and continuous improvement

* Contribute to inspections and service evaluations

Essential Requirements

* Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent)

* Registered with Social Work England

* Significant experience in Children's Social Care

* Experience in supervision and/or management

* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and statutory frameworks
