Laser Programmer

Location: Smethwick, West Midlands
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Laser Programmer to join a well-established manufacturing business in Smethwick. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of programming and operating laser cutting machinery, with proven experience in both flatbed and 5-axis laser systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled programmer to work with advanced laser technology, producing high-quality components for a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities

Program and operate flatbed lasers for precision cutting of sheet metal.

Program and operate 5-axis lasers for complex cutting requirements.

*

Work with Trumpf laser systems, ensuring maximum accuracy and efficiency.

*

Interpret technical drawings and specifications to create accurate cutting programs.

*

Ensure high-quality standards are maintained in line with company and customer requirements.

*

Carry out regular machine checks, troubleshooting, and adjustments.

*

Collaborate with production teams to optimise processes and improve workflow.

*

Maintain accurate records of work and programming data.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

*

Proven experience programming and operating flatbed laser cutting machines.

*

Strong experience with 5-axis laser programming and/or operation.

*

Proficiency with Trumpf laser systems.

*

Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.

*

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Desirable:

*

Experience within a manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication environment.

*

Strong problem-solving and process-improvement mindset.
