Synchronicity are proud to be partnered with one of the UK's leading pension providers who have recently opened up an opportunity to join their Trustee Services team as a Governance Officer. This is an opportunity that would see you play a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of secretariat services to Scheme Committees, Funding Committees and ad-hoc working parties.

Reporting directly to the Head of Governance, this is a pivotal role that combines relationship management, project coordination, and committee support. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to support governance processes and contribute to the clients strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and taking ownership of Governance goals and objectives.
  • Lead on providing Scheme Secretariat and Governance duties to clients, committees and sub-committees.
  • Develop and manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, both externally and internally.
  • Design and recommend Annual Committee Business timetables for approval.
  • Carry out background research, compile data and prepare and present papers for consideration.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organisation at networking events where required.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • An excellent communicator, confident working with senior stakeholders.
  • A pensions professional with knowledge of occupational pension schemes.
  • Experienced in governance, corporate secretariat support, or pensions/trustee boards (desirable).
  • A skilled project manager, able to coordinate multiple governance tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in electronic meeting pack systems and MS Office applications.
