The Marine Environmental team within the Marine Site Characterisation division is now looking for a Tendering Project Manager to join the team based in our waterfront offices in Portchester, on the UK’s south coast. Working as a pivotal part of the team, the Tendering Project Manager will primarily be responsible for writing tenders for Marine Environmental projects whilst maintaining excellent relationships with clients through responding to enquiries, active follow-ups and identifying opportunities for Fugro. The Marine Environmental team specialises in environmental site characterisation, impact assessment and ecological monitoring. The data we collect enables our clients and regulatory organisations to fully understand the effects of developments and activities in the coastal and marine environment. As 95% of this role involves writing tenders, it will suit someone who enjoys the very detailed work of tender production who either comes from a marine survey background with a good understanding of the principles of commercial tendering or someone who has a commercial, project management or service sales background. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to: Liaise with the management & commercial teams to assess the viability of every opportunity to bid and ensure recommendations are documented; Author, write and coordinate the writing of the proposals; Determine the best technical strategy for every bid (vessels, equipment, personnel, methods etc.); Determine the cost and fee for tenders; Ensure all relevant tender clarification questions are submitted on time; Oversee the review of all draft contracts and assist with contract negotiations/ agreements; Liaise with other Fugro commercial team and business development staff and service lines to determine bid strategies; Represent the Marine Site Characterisation, as necessary, at sales meetings & client negotiation; Maintain and update CRM systems with all projects and opportunities. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications required: BSc in Marine Science or Environmental Science or relevant equivalent commercial experience. Skills required: Skilled problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication with a methodical common-sense approach, attention to detail and exceptional inter-personal and communication skills; Strong numeracy skills with good Excel capabilities. Experience required: Production of written deliverables; Proposal and tender production.
