About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to lead the mechanical estimating function within a dynamic MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contracting environment. This pivotal role involves managing the mechanical estimating process, overseeing an Intermediate Mechanical Estimator and a Senior Electrical Estimator, and ensuring the delivery of accurate and competitive bids for a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems across diverse projects.
*
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine scope and requirements.
*
Manage and mentor the Intermediate Mechanical Estimator and collaborate closely with the Senior Electrical Estimator to ensure cohesive bid submissions.
*
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and assess their suitability.
*
Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential cost overruns.
*
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations to gather pertinent information for accurate estimating.
*
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and labor rates to inform estimating practices.
*
Utilize estimating software and tools to compile and manage cost data effectively.
*
Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and present them to senior management for review and approval.
Qualifications and Experience:
*
Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services or construction industry.
*
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and installation methodologies.
*
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members effectively.
*
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
*
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
*
Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
*
Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field are advantageous.
