Are you an experienced educator with a passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you looking for a more flexible, rewarding role outside the traditional classroom?

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Tutor to deliver tailored Maths and English tuition on a 1:1 basis with secondary-aged learners across Buckinghamshire. These students are currently out of mainstream education and may be dealing with challenges such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, or school refusal.

As a tutor, you'll work closely with each learner to build trust, boost their confidence, and help them progress academically at their own pace. This is a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who need support the most.

Position Details:

Location: Across Buckinghamshire
Role: SEN Tutor - Maths & English (1:1 in-person tuition)
Subjects: Functional/GCSE-level Maths and English
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Ongoing, based on individual student needs
Hours: Flexible - typically after school, 1 to 3 hours per session
Pay: From £25 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Part-time or full-time hours available

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

QTS, PGCE or equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification
Minimum 6 months' teaching/tutoring experience in the UK
Proven experience working with students with SEN (EHCPs, ASD, SEMH, ADHD, etc.)
Strong subject knowledge in both Maths and English (up to GCSE level)
A nurturing, patient, and adaptable teaching style

You Must Also:

Have the Right to Work in the UK
Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
Provide two recent, child-related references
