Video Producer Job Description
ProgressNow Colorado Education, a 501(c)(3) organization, and ProgressNow Colorado, a 501(c)(4) organization, are seeking a full-time video professional to assist our production team in generating creative, innovative video content. This person will assist in helping us expand our communications capacity on a variety of issues in the progressive political space, but will primarily engage on issues related to reproductive rights, justice, and health. The video producer will work on a variety of projects -- from digital shorts and advertisements to long-form narrative documentary -- and will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in all stages if video production -- from concept and pitch to production and post production. At such a pivotal time in our nation’s history, the movement needs storytellers. This is an excellent opportunity for a video professional with technical know-how and a strong story sense to work for Colorado’s largest progressive online advocacy organization.
Develop engaging video content in support of progressive causes.
Support partner organizations and allies with video and communications expertise.
Work with reproductive justice advocates to develop messaging and creative storytelling.
Be a jack-of-all-trades on film sets, wear multiple hats in post, and help transport film equipment for on-location shoots.
Film and live-broadcast events and rallies.
Develop scripts and interview questions in pre-production.
Manage digital assets and help maintain an organized footage archive.
Aid in research and outreach for long-form documentary projects.
Work on tight deadlines to deliver videos that are completed on time and on budget.
Contribute to creative meetings and brainstorm sessions.
Demonstrated competency in video production and post production via a reel or completed works.
Demonstrated creative proficiency in writing, filmmaking, video editing, lighting, audio, and graphics creation.
Experience creating online video content, ideally for social.
Knowledge of best practices for individual social platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
Demonstrated technical proficiency with a variety of cameras, lights, and sound equipment, as well as the Adobe Creative Suite (especially Premiere, After Effects, and Audition).
Stays on top of the latest trends for digital video.
Willing to take risks and experiment, learn quickly, and be able to work on a tight deadline.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried position. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
