A leading organisation in the aerospace and space systems sector is looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a 7-person Scrum team. The project involves building management systems for a new satellite programme. You'll be contributing across the full software development lifecycle - from design and development to testing - in a modern, Agile environment with a strong focus on microservices and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and test features as part of a collaborative Scrum team
Take part in sprint planning and task estimation
Contribute to technical discussions and architectural design (UML)
Support CI/CD processes and automated testing frameworks
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders
Essential Skills & Experience
Java (version 8+)
Spring Boot and Spring Framework (inc. Hibernate)
RESTful APIs over HTTPS
Microservices and distributed systems
Agile development (Scrum)
CI/CD pipelines
Git and Jira (or similar tools)
UML or SysML using Enterprise Architect or equivalent
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proactive mindset and ability to work independently
