Remote Oracle DBA - Northern Ireland-Based Candidates Only
One of our trusted consulting partners is seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to bolster their growing infrastructure team. With a reputation for delivering technical solutions to public sector clients across the UK and Ireland, this organisation offers a unique opportunity to be part of high-impact projects from the comfort of your home.
This role will suit someone with deep Oracle experience who's eager to take the next step into strategic work across performance tuning, high availability, and cloud transformation. You'll be hands-on with some of the most current Oracle technologies and tools, contributing directly to enterprise-scale improvements and modernisation efforts.
What You'll Be Doing:
Managing and optimising Oracle Database instances (11g onwards) across varied enterprise environments
Driving performance tuning initiatives and resolving bottlenecks through detailed query optimisation
Supporting middleware components, including WebLogic, Oracle Forms, and Oracle Reports
Playing a key role in cloud enablement, with experience in OCI and/or AWS RDS seen as a strong plus
Assisting with Exadata platform deployment and performance tuning (cloud, on-prem, or hybrid)
Planning and executing database migration projects end-to-end, with clear documentation and validation
Overseeing system backups, recovery strategies, job automation, and uptime assurance
Working with associated tools such as Oracle APEX, GoldenGate, ODI, RAC, and Red Hat Linux
What We're Looking For:
Demonstrable experience supporting Oracle DB environments in complex, high-stakes setups
Confidence in tuning databases, monitoring capacity, and planning for growth
Familiarity with integration middleware and third-party tooling
Hands-on experience with database cloud migrations and hybrid architecture
A background in delivering fully scoped migrations from discovery to post-go-live support
Awareness of enterprise backup/monitoring platforms will be advantageous
