Job Purpose:To manage communication and compliance processes between the finance team and external tax advisors, ensuring timely responses to queries, accurate record-keeping, and clear reporting of progress and issues to senior finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities: - Tax Query Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for advisors regarding tax-related queries and requests.
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to all queries, coordinating with relevant internal departments where necessary.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain a comprehensive file (digital and/or physical) of all correspondence, documents, and submissions to/from advisors
- Ensure all documents are correctly indexed and easily retrievable for audit or review purposes.
- Status Reporting and Issue Escalation:
- Provide regular updates to the Financial Controller and Finance Director on the status of queries, outstanding actions, and any potential risks or delays.
- Highlight and escalate complex or high-risk issues promptly to senior management.
- Compliance Support:
- Assist in ensuring all tax-related submissions comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation of information for tax filings, audits, and internal reviews.
Skills and Competencies: - Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple queries and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with tax compliance processes and university finance structures (desirable but not essential).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and document management systems.
