Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Stockport, who are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Science Technician to join their science department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a science graduate to support the delivery of high-quality science education in a vibrant school environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of practical science lessons by preparing equipment, maintaining resources, and upholding strict health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing apparatus and materials for practical science lessons

Supporting teaching staff and pupils during experiments

Cleaning and maintaining equipment and laboratories

Monitoring inventory and placing orders for stock and supplies

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and COSHH guidelines

Assisting with administrative duties within the science department

Essential Requirements:

A degree in a science-related subject is mandatory - only candidates with a science degree will be considered

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

A proactive, team-oriented approach

Previous school or laboratory experience is beneficial, but not essential

A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

This role is to start immediately, offering a daily pay rate of £100 - £110, depending on experience. It presents an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with a scientific background looking to gain experience in the education sector.
