Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with complex special educational needs? Our education recruitment agency is proud to be working in partnership with a highly supportive and well-resourced SEN school in Trafford, and we are currently seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their exceptional team.
This specialist setting supports pupils with a wide range of complex needs including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism spectrum condition (ASC), physical disabilities, and medical needs. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged and supported to reach their full potential.
The RoleAs a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both in the classroom and through personalised learning activities. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff, you will help deliver tailored support to ensure pupils can access learning in a meaningful and engaging way.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils with complex learning and physical needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assisting with communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual supports
Supporting personal care where required (full training can be provided)
Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
Encouraging independence, engagement, and social development
Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals

You will ideally have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly complex needs
A calm, resilient and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
Experience in care, support work, or SEN settings (desirable but not essential)
