Job Title: L2/L3 Network Engineer – AI Datacentre

Location: UK & Europe Based

Salary/Rate: £450 - £600

Reports To: Network Operations Lead / Infrastructure Manager

We are seeking an experienced Level 2/Level 3 Network Engineer to join our high-performance infrastructure team supporting AI datacentre operations. You will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising complex network environments that power high-density GPU compute clusters, distributed AI workloads, and real-time data processing.

This role blends classic networking with the unique demands of high-throughput, low-latency infrastructure found in cutting-edge AI data centres.

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure across AI/hyperscale datacentres.
• Configure and deploy spine-leaf switches (Cisco, Arista, Juniper)
• Support deployment and scaling of high-speed (10/40/100/400GbE) networks including spine-leaf architectures.
• Monitor and maintain physical and virtual network environments using network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Grafana, NetBox, etc.).
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware teams, and cloud architects to ensure end-to-end connectivity for AI workloads.
• Support and troubleshoot RDMA, VXLAN/EVPN fabrics
• Diagnose and resolve routing, switching, and connectivity issues (OSPF, BGP, VLAN, VRF, etc.).
• Perform capacity planning, network optimisation, and proactive performance tuning.
• Participate in network automation efforts using Python, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
• Document network topologies, device configurations, and change procedures.
• Provide L2/L3 on-call support, incident response, and root cause analysis.

• 5+ years in networking, preferably in a hyperscaler or HPC environment
• Proficient with L2/L3 protocols, automation tools, and AI fabrics
• Familiarity with NVIDIA Spectrum or similar switches is a plus
• Certifications: CCNP, Arista ACE, JNCIP
