Maintenance Technician

Location: Cheltenham
Hours: 3 weekly rotational shift - 40 hours per week, Days 6-2, Afternoons 2-10 and Nights 22-6
Salary: £17.06 p/h + 20% Shift Allowance

Our Clients works within the heart of Cheltenham, manufacturing a multitude of products to supply to customers.

Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician

* Perform maintenance tasks across diverse disciplines: electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatic, process, and PLC.

* Ensure adherence to targeted KPIs and best practices for maintaining the Manufacturing Plant.

* Record and report investigation findings promptly.

* Offer coverage flexibility during holidays, training, or absences.

* Execute maintenance and servicing of all plant and equipment as per agreed schedules.

* Foster an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) culture to ensure a healthy and risk-free workplace.

* Dedicate to personal and team development through active engagement.

* Implement Operational Excellence (OE) and Continuous Improvement (CI) principles.

* Uphold responsibility for Product Safety & Quality as per regulatory, Hydro, and local protocols.

* Communicate issues promptly through the appropriate chain of command.

* Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance site operations.

* Identify and seize opportunities to minimize costs.

* Participate in overtime as necessary to meet operational demands.

* Adhere to all time and attendance objectives.

* Uphold high standards of individual housekeeping and implement 5S principles.

Key Skills of a Maintenance Technician

* Experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with a background in Manufacturing, poised to contribute to Team objectives in alignment with Site KPIs. Electrical bias is essential.

* Possess ONC/HNC in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, or hold a recognized Engineering apprenticeship, or possess City & Guilds/NVQ qualification with relevant experience and EITB Multi Skilled certification.

* Preferably, have extensive experience in Engineering.

* Demonstrate proficient English communication skills, both verbal and written.

* Exhibit a good level of competency in MS Office and IT. Proficiency in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems would be highly advantageous
