Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a Client Accounts Administrator to support the day-to-day financial operations of their lettings department. This role will focus on ensuring rent payments are accurately receipted, landlords are paid promptly, and the client account is maintained in line with Propertymark client money regulations.
This is a part-time role with flexibility on daily working hours, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for a consistent schedule while maintaining work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raise daily rental invoices and ensure rent payments are accurately receipted.
- Monitor incoming rent payments and promptly investigate any discrepancies.
- Prepare and process daily landlord statements and payments.
- Verify contractor invoices and ensure they are authorised before arranging payment.
- Maintain a clear and accurate audit trail for all financial transactions.
- Carry out daily bank reconciliations of the client account.
- Identify and resolve any unmatched items, errors, or anomalies quickly.
- Ensure compliance with Client Money Protection (CMP) regulations and industry standards.
- Add and verify landlord let fees and other charges within the system.
- Ensure all fees are recorded accurately in line with agency agreements.
- Monitor tenant rent arrears on a daily basis.
- Maintain detailed arrears notes and track any agreed payment arrangements.
- Escalate arrears of five days or more to the Senior Accounts Manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience within lettings client accounting is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Confident using IT systems and databases.
- Experience using Reapit property software would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Lettings or accounting qualifications would be beneficial (or willingness to obtain them).
