Hays Accountancy & Finance are currently partnering with a leading and growing facilities management/services SME based in Stroud, Gloucestershire looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and hands-on Financial Controller A varied accounting position reporting directly into the Managing Director where you can really add value and support a growing organisation overseeing a small accounting team. You will be given the opportunity to improve and develop processes/systems as the business grows further.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve managing all aspects of the organisations day to day accounting department overseeing a small finance team, coaching and developing along with directing their work-load. You will produce full monthly management accounts, maintenance of fixed asset register, WIP, stock reconciliations, VAT processes, EU sales and intrastat along with monthly journals, accruals and prepayments. You will be involved in daily banking and cash management, payment runs, cash flow preparation, reconciling sales figures along with GP analysis/reporting and lead schedules. Along with this you will oversee the purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control processes, assist in preparing payroll for an outsourced provider and be involved in various process/system improvement projects. You will partner with other senior management in the business to support in financial analysis for the decision-making process and ad-hoc projects.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on and varied Finance Manager position you will have experience within a similar role, strong communication skills to build relationships at all levels along with the ability to manage your own work-loads and meet time constraint deadlines. Ideally you will be part-qualified/qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or qualified by experience, with key MS excel skills and supervisory experience. It would be advantageous if you are trained in Sage packages and have experience improving new processes/systems.
