Senior Contracts ManagerLocation: ChelmsfordSalary: £90,000 - £100,000 + Car / Car Allowance + Fuel Card + Bonus + PensionAn established and rapidly growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to join their expanding delivery team. The role will involve overseeing multiple residential infrastructure and groundworks packages across Essex, Suffolk and surrounding areas.The company has experienced significant growth in recent years, increasing turnover from approximately £62m to £100m while expanding its workforce by over 65%. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued expansion plans, this role offers excellent long-term career progression within a dynamic and ambitious business.The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing several live projects while supporting pre-construction planning for upcoming schemes. You will work closely with senior leadership, commercial teams and site management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.Senior Contracts Manager Salary & Benefits

Senior Contracts Manager Job Overview

  • Oversee multiple residential groundworks and infrastructure projects across Essex and East Anglia
  • Provide leadership and support to Site Managers, Engineers and site teams
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget
  • Monitor programme performance and resource allocation across multiple sites
  • Chair and attend client, commercial and project review meetings
  • Work closely with Commercial teams to manage project performance and cost control
  • Support pre-construction planning for upcoming developments
  • Maintain strong relationships with housebuilders, consultants and project stakeholders
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental performance

Senior Contracts Manager Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Manager role within groundworks or civil engineering
  • Strong background delivering residential infrastructure and groundworks packages
  • Experience managing multiple sites simultaneously
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and programme management ability
  • SMSTS qualification
  • CSCS Black Card (or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
