Section Engineer - NetZero Project (Substation)

Location: Teesside
Contract: 12-month initial contract (up to Jan 2027)

Rate: £(Apply online only)/day

Key Responsibilities

Lead on-site supervision for civil works at the substation.

Oversee and coordinate site engineers and sub-agents on tasks including:

Earthworks

Drainage installations

Reinforced concrete (RC) works

Concrete pours

Heavy civil works

Setting out and surveying

Ensure work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to specification.

Liaise with contractors, sub-contractors, and project teams to maintain smooth operations.

Support Health & Safety compliance and site documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a section engineer or similar role on heavy civil engineering projects.

Hands-on experience with earthworks, drainage, RC works, concrete pours, and heavy civil infrastructure.

Strong Health & Safety knowledge; SMSTS, SSSTS, CSES preferred.

Experience on large-scale or complex projects advantageous (e.g., substations, industrial sites).

Practical, "boots on the ground" site supervision experience required.

Software & Training

Proficient in Microsoft Office and generic CAD; Primavera P6 is a bonus.

Environmental and site-specific training will be provided on-site
