About the Role:
A welcoming, inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Ealing is seeking a confident, resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral team with an immediate start. This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong background in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and managing challenging behaviours in a school setting.

You will work closely with the school's SENCO, pastoral lead and class teachers to support identified pupils across the school, both in-class and through targeted interventions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional resilience and engagement with learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils displaying challenging behaviour or SEMH needs

Deliver targeted intervention programmes to develop pupils' social, emotional and behavioural skills

De-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely, using positive behaviour management strategies

Work in partnership with teachers, parents and external agencies to support individual pupils' development plans

Maintain accurate records and contribute to behaviour support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding protocols

Essential Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour in a school or alternative provision

Strong understanding of positive behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies

Experience delivering targeted behaviour, anger management or social skills interventions

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting, professional relationships

A calm, empathetic and consistent approach to behaviour support

Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete prior to starting)

Team Teach, MAPA or other relevant behaviour intervention training (desirable but not essential)

A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting positive outcomes for all children.
