Senior Manufacturing Engineer & NPI Manager - Bristol

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer & NPI Manager to lead the introduction of new aerospace components into production and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

In this role, you will take ownership of the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle - from RFQ through to production approval - using APQP methodologies to identify and mitigate risks across manufacturing and supply chain processes.

Working closely with engineering, CNC programming, production teams, and suppliers, you will ensure processes are robust, efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory and customer requirements while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Hours of work: Mon-Thurs 7.30-4pm Friday #removed#.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the full NPI process from RFQ to final approval, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification

Apply APQP to identify and mitigate risks in product development, manufacturing, and supply chain

Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes for aerospace components

Review Engineering Change Requests and manage required follow-up actions

Define rework routings where required

Support investigations into non-conformances and participate in Root Cause Analysis

Collaborate with CNC programmers, production teams, and suppliers to optimise processes and reduce costs

Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and waste reduction

Conduct process validations and establish controls to ensure compliance and product integrity

Produce and maintain process documentation including routings, work instructions, and process maps

Provide technical support to production teams, quotations, and contract reviews

Act as deputy to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager when required

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and components

Proven experience in process design, optimisation, and improvement

Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100

Strong understanding of APQP, FMEA, lean principles, and 5S

Experience using ERP/MRP systems

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Desirable:

Aerospace industry experience

Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems

At least 3 years' experience managing NPI projects
