Your new organisation
Haringey's Safeguarding & Family support teams play a vital role in continuing the child's journey when cases are transferred from the Assessment Service and where longer-term involvement is needed. We are a busy and supportive service working with children and young people subject to child protection and children in need plans including Public Law Outline pre-proceedings work, as well as initiating care proceedings.
Haringey is investing in creating a better borough for all residents, and bettering the lives of children and young people in Haringey is our first corporate priority. We are located in the north of the capital with a population of approximately 250,000 people and a growing population of 0-19 year olds. We are a diverse and fast-changing borough and tomorrow's leaders, artists and innovators are busy growing up here.
Your new role
You will manage complex cases, planning intervention and support in a timely manner, always making sure that children and young people's voices are heard. You will need to liaise effectively and efficiently with both internal and external partners to ensure that children and young people are safe. You will also be providing high quality, evidence based assessments. As the Senior Practitioner, we would expect you to support your Team Manager in developing the team, e.g., supporting and mentoring ASYE and less experienced colleagues, and helping to implement and drive a high performance culture.
What you'll need to succeed
This role will suit you if you are an experienced social worker who is resilient and authoritative, and a professional who places children and young people and their welfare at the heart of your practice. You will need to hold a current HCPC registration and have at least 3 years post qualifying experience in children's services, particularly in the areas of safeguarding and child protection.
What you'll get in return
Haringey Council strives to provide a supportive and empowering environment to work in, We will give you the time and support you need to make a difference. Alongside our generous learning and development offer, we offer a competitive salary package which includes a £3,000 retention bonus and relocation offer (subject to eligibility, terms and conditions). We are actively working to reduce caseloads across the service and provide mobile working technology so that you spend more time with children and young people, doing what really matters.
In addition, Haringey offers a wide range of attractive benefits including Flexible Working, Health & Dental Plans, Childcare Vouchers, 30 days of annual leave and pension scheme.
