Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics Permanent Full-TimeSalary - Circa £32,000 DOE Location - Office Based in UlverstonWe're proud to be supporting a leading innovator in underwater imaging and sensing technology. With over 30 years of experience, the company designs and manufactures advanced sonar systems, navigation tools, and depth-sensing equipment for subsea applications. Their solutions enhance safety and performance in extreme environments, serving clients globally.Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with electronics experience to support NPI, streamline production processes, resolve faults, develop documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.Responsibilities, but are not limited to

  • Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) for advanced electronic systems, ensuring Design for Manufacturability (DFM) from concept to production
  • Design and implement custom tooling, jigs, and test fixtures to streamline assembly and testing processes
  • Diagnose and resolve component-level faults in both production and prototype builds
  • Develop and maintain clear production documentation, including SOPs, build guides, and test instructions
  • Train and support technicians in assembly, diagnostics, and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and yield
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and assist in material qualification and supplier engagement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, design, and supply chain teams to meet production goals

Experiences required

  • HND/HNC or Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing and process engineering
  • Strong hands-on skills in PCB assembly, fault diagnosis, and test development
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, DFM, and NPI processes
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
