Assistant Payroll Manager - £45,000 - £51,000 + Bonus & great benefits - Gatwick

Frazer Jones are delighted to be supporting a leading professional services business on the recruitment of a Assistant Payroll Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.

Our client is fully office based.

The Role:

  • Processing staff starting and returning from maternity leave.
  • Updating sickness reports.
  • Processing leavers.
  • Calculating adjustments required, including pro-rata calculations.
  • Completing end-of-period payroll reporting for review by the Payroll Manager.
  • Supervising the Payroll Administrators and Payroll Support Administrator to ensure their work is up to date and providing support with training where required.
  • Assisting the Payroll Manager in delivering an accurate payroll by importing and reconciling uplifts to salaries and various company benefits.
  • Collaborating with the pension team to balance pension contributions each payroll period.
  • Checking calculations and input of other team members.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with the submission of HMRC RTI reporting.
  • Assisting the Payroll Manager with the payment of taxes at the end of each payroll period and the payment of Class 1A NIC's in respect of Benefits in Kind.
  • Producing and reconciling reports at the end of each payroll period for stakeholders.
  • Completing P11D reporting and childcare voucher assessments annually.
  • Creating and sending BACS files.
  • Importing new starters to the payroll.
  • Importing salary and cash allowances, and reconciling values with Human Resources reports.
  • Importing timesheet values to the payroll system (MegaPay by Intelligo) and reconciling values with Human Resources reports.
  • Reconciling PAYE and completing payment paperwork.
  • Supporting team members with day-to-day queries.

Skills & experience required:

  • Inhouse payroll experience 3000 + headcount
  • Strong supervisor/ manager experience.
  • Manual calculations exposure
