Leaders Romans Group are looking for a new Service Charge Accountant to join us on a permanent basis.

What can you expect day to day as a Service Charge Accountant?

* Daily allocation of leaseholder payments via the block management system

* Drafting service charge budgets for Property Managers to present to clients.

* Inputting budgets to the system and issuing service charge and ground rent invoices.

* Performing monthly credit control functions, issuing debt letters from the system to leaseholders in arrears and issuing accounts to external solicitors for collection when required.

* Monthly bank reconciliations

* Preparing and reviewing on boarding and off boarding accounts

* Resolving account problems, queries and transactions received from clients

* Accounts vs Budget monthly reviews and ability to explain variances to clients and Property Managers

* Year end and budgeting reporting requirements for individual locations

* Liaise with external accountants for the preparation of Service Charge Accounts

* System housekeeping

* Release of payments from the bank for contractors

To be considered for this role, the following experience and skills are desired:

- Good written and oral communication skills
- Able to plan and prioritise
- Excellent IT skills - Experience of Microsoft suite of products, Word, Excel etc.
- Attention to detail
- Managing a team
- Able to communicate at all levels
- Experience of using Property Management accounts systems, ideally MRI Qube and/or Resident
- Knowledge of conveyancing
- Service charge accounting experience
- Block Management finance experience
- Knowledge of property market and associated services
- Knowledge of ARMA compliance rules
- Team leadership
- Experience of busy month end routines
- Experience of working in a sales orientated industry
- Experience of divisional or departmental accounts
- Actively studying/Qualified AAT / ACCA / CIMA
