SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 1 (Autism Support)
Location: Ealing, West London

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £95 per day
Hours: 8:15am - 4:15pm, Monday to Friday (with an earlier finish on Fridays)

A mainstream primary school in Ealing is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism and challenging behaviour. The child is very energetic and requires a consistent, structured approach to help them engage positively with their learning.

This full-time role starts in September 2025 and offers an excellent opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 classroom support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism and high energy levels

Support behaviour regulation using agreed strategies

Reinforce consistent expectations and boundaries

Collaborate with class teacher, SENCO, and other staff

Record and communicate progress and challenges as required

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with children with Autism (ASD) in a school setting

Be confident supporting pupils with lots of energy and occasional outbursts

Stay calm, patient, and consistent under pressure

Be firm but fair, with clear expectations and a positive approach

Work well within a team and be willing to follow agreed behaviour plans

Have a proactive mindset and strong communication skills
