Job Description

Summary:

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the flow and safe transport of patients from when they enter the facility to discharge from the facility, at the direction of the office coordinator. The Patient Care Coordinator may interact with family members of patients to coordinate pick-up locations and times, at the direction of the office coordinator and nursing team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction.
  2. Assists with with minor preparations of patients for surgery.
  3. Assists where needed, with cleaning and/or disinfecting of office products.
  4. Assists with stocking, replenishing and preparation of supplies.
  5. Checks updated schedule every morning and prepares work area.
  6. Communicates patient information to assure confidentiality and continuity of care.
  7. Interacts with all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional environment.
  8. Fosters a positive and professional surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year in experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, but willing to train
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Current BCLS certification preferred or successful completion of BCLS course within 90 days of employment.
