Communications Systems Engineer - Contract

• Systems Engineer contract role, up to £650/day (inside IR35)
• Hybrid working, circa 2 days onsite per week (Hampshire)
• 4-month initial contract with potential extension

Our client is a leading organisation within the national security and defence space, delivering advanced technology solutions across complex and mission-critical environments. They specialise in solving challenging problems across communications, sensing and systems integration. Due to increased demand across a key programme, they are looking to bring in an experienced Systems Engineer (Communications / C2) to support ongoing delivery.

THE SYSTEMS ENGINEER ROLE:

As a Systems Engineer, you will support the analysis and understanding of complex communications systems, contributing to technology-focused insights and structured reporting. You will work across system-of-systems environments, identifying areas for capability improvement and supporting stakeholder engagement across defence programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting analysis of communications and C2 systems
• Producing technical reports and technology insights
• Contributing to system-level understanding and capability assessment
• Engaging with stakeholders across technical and operational teams

SYSTEMS ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Experience as a Systems Engineer within defence or national security environments
• Strong understanding of communications, C2, CIS or networked systems
• Ability to apply systems thinking across complex environments
• Experience producing technical documentation, reports or analysis
• Active SC or DV clearance
