An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sheltered Housing Officer to join a well-established local authority's Supported Housing team. This role focuses on delivering enhanced housing management services to residents living in sheltered accommodation, helping to promote independence, safety, and a high standard of living.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the main point of contact for residents, visitors, contractors, and partner agencies within the scheme.

*

Deliver a comprehensive housing management service to support residents in maintaining their tenancy.

*

Signpost and refer residents to appropriate services and community resources.

*

Monitor and report tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, and support with disputes or complaints.

*

Ensure the safety and security of the building, including regular inspections, emergency procedures, and health & safety checks.

*

Oversee communal areas including cleaning standards, laundry facilities, and guest rooms.

*

Report and follow up on building repairs and maintenance issues in both communal areas and individual flats.

*

Assist with resident engagement activities including scheme meetings and consultation events.

*

Maintain accurate records in line with data protection and safeguarding procedures.

*

Provide cover for other schemes when required and actively contribute to continuous service improvement.

Essential Requirements:

*

Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent).

*

Demonstrable experience in customer-focused roles, ideally within housing, care, or support services.

*

Confident using computer systems and maintaining accurate records.

*

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

*

Ability to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.

*

Committed to equality, diversity, and inclusive service delivery.

*

Knowledge of health & safety practices, safeguarding protocols, and emergency procedures.

Desirable:

*

Understanding of enhanced housing management services and issues affecting older people.

*

Knowledge of community alarms, Telecare, and support services for vulnerable residents.

*

Ability to deliver presentations and lead resident engagement events.
