About the Role:

As the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer, you will be the sole onsite representative responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive HS&E strategy. Working autonomously, you’ll play a vital role in fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Assessment & Incident Management:

    • Conduct risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards.

    • Document incidents, lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

    • Assist in creating SOPs with a strong focus on HS&E.

  • HSE Training & Awareness:

    • Develop and deliver safety training for employees and contractors.

    • Promote a culture of safety and ensure proper use of PPE.

    • Collaborate across departments to integrate HS&E into daily operations.

  • Emergency Preparedness & Response:

    • Develop, implement and test emergency response plans.

    • Coordinate with emergency services and conduct drills.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Monitor HS&E performance metrics and provide reports to management.

    • Recommend and implement program improvements.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.

  • Certification in HS&E practices (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA).

  • Minimum of 3 years of HS&E experience, preferably in manufacturing environments involving flammable and COSHH materials.

  • Strong knowledge of HS&E regulations.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and emergency management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
