A returning client of ours in the logistics/freight forwarding industry is looking for an Assistant Accountant/ Credit controller/General Accounts person to join their finance department. This role is fully office based, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm (there is parking available off site)
Job Spec:
- Credit control experience
- Monitoring customer accounts
- Chasing payments and overdue invoices
- Maintaining and updating credit limits for customers
- Aged debtor reporting
- Payment/ receipt allocations
- Customer/ supplier account reconciliation
- Bank reconciliation
- Overhead invoices
- Journal postings
- Excel, vlookup, pivot tables
- Attention to detail
- Good communication, organisation, and time management
- Basic accounting principles
Key experience:
- At least 3 years plus experience within general accounts and credit control
- Experience from working in the freight forwarding or logistics industry
- Experienced in using Sage 50 or Boxtop is desirable.
- Strong bank reconciliations experience, overhead invoicing and journal postings is a must.
