OverviewReed is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics company based in Redditch for a Transport Operations Coordinator. This is a pivotal role within the night team, responsible for overseeing the tracking of shipments and ensuring seamless communication with clients during out-of-hours operations.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and can remain composed under pressure. You’ll be joining a small, committed night team where your contribution will directly impact service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track shipments from dispatch to delivery
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to customers and stakeholders
  • Maintain clear and professional communication across internal and external teams
  • Ensure full visibility and control of all active consignments
  • Respond swiftly to urgent issues such as potential line stoppages or priority deliveries
  • Collaborate effectively with a small night-shift team (1–2 colleagues)

Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Exceptionally organised and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • A confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Customer-focused with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Detail-driven with a commitment to accuracy
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently during night hours

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain (UK, EU, or international)
  • Familiarity with high-pressure operational environments
  • Proven ability to manage night-shift responsibilities independently

Working Hours

  • Core Schedule: Friday to Monday nights, 19:00 – 07:00 (44 hours/week, 1-hour unpaid break per night)
  • Training Period: 6–8 weeks of daytime training (Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week).
