SEN Teacher with Dyslexia Specialism

We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and experienced SEN Teacher with a specialism in Dyslexia to join our dedicated team at a forward-thinking Secondary School committed to delivering inclusive education. This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact students' lives, ensuring they reach their full potential through personalised support.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and deliver ambitious, tailored programmes of work, resources, and teaching strategies for students with dyslexia.
- Lead high-quality interventions that align with the SEN Code of Practice (2015), focusing on the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, ensuring skills acquired are transferred into the wider curriculum.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on dyslexia and word-level difficulties.
- Champion and embed a dyslexia-friendly culture throughout the school.
- Develop and lead targeted interventions to support students with dyslexia and related needs.
- Share best practices in learning support and special educational needs (SEN), with a focus on dyslexia, to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degree.
- Level 5 or Level 7 qualification in teaching students with dyslexia.
- Evidence of continued professional development, including in-service training.
- A minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience at Level 5 or 7.
