About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technician with a passion for science and a strong background in supporting practical learning across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. In this senior position, you will take on a more leadership-focused role, providing guidance to junior technicians, assisting in the development of the Science curriculum, and ensuring the smooth running of all laboratory activities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and set up workshop apparatus/equipment and materials for practical lessons and controlled assessments across all science disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).

* Oversee the maintenance, cleaning, and safety of laboratory equipment.

* Supervise and assist students during practical lessons and experiments, ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times.

* Lead and support a team of science technicians, ensuring the smooth operation of all practical activities.

* Advise teaching staff on the most effective use of materials and resources for lessons.

* Assist with the development and implementation of safety protocols and lab management systems.

* Play a key role in maintaining a well-organized and resourceful laboratory environment.

* Provide support in curriculum planning and development, ensuring lessons are practical, effective, and in line with school objectives.

Ideal Candidate:

The school is looking for an individual who has:

* A degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Biology (minimum 2:1).

* Proven experience as a Science Technician in a secondary school setting (experience in a leadership role is highly desirable).

* In-depth knowledge of science laboratory procedures and equipment.

* Excellent organizational and communication skills.

* A passion for science education and a drive to support students' learning.

* A strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations within the laboratory environment.

* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and support the professional development of others.
