Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Field-Based (Monday – Friday)

Job Overview:

An opportunity is available for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a busy and expanding team. This is a predominantly field-based role involving routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs of equipment at customer sites, as well as attending breakdowns. Ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background, particularly in diesel engines or heavy plant machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled service and maintenance work on both rental fleet and customer-owned equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults on a range of machinery and systems
• Prepare equipment for hire, ensuring readiness and reliability
• Install and commission temporary power supplies to site accommodation (including wiring when required)
• Load and unload equipment and tools as needed
• Participate in the on-call rota for breakdown support
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
• Accurately complete and submit all required documentation
• Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are managed in line with internal procedures
• Keep assigned vehicles clean, roadworthy, and serviced in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Report any defects or issues with vehicles promptly

Experience & Skills Required:

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering (preferred)
• Experience working with diesel engines and/or heavy plant machinery (preferred)
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and take part in a call-out rota
• Understanding of safe working practices
