A Fantastic Opportunity for an EC&I Technician to Join a Leading Industrial Company!

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join a highly reputable and well-established industrial company at their site in Mitcham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled engineer to join a forward-thinking business, where you will be involved in a wide variety of engineering tasks focused on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.

The company operates in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment and is known for investing in their staff and infrastructure. This role will suit someone from a heavy industrial, utilities, or process plant background who thrives on fault-finding, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Skills required for the EC&I Technician:

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Control Systems (or equivalent).

  • 17th/18th Edition certified.

  • Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs (Omron, Siemens, Allen Bradley), and field instrumentation.

  • Experience in hazardous area environments (ATEX) beneficial.

  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

The EC&I Technician will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.

  • Installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.).

  • Troubleshooting and modifying PLC and control systems to ensure optimal performance.

  • Maintaining and updating control system documentation.

  • Supporting plant upgrades, shutdowns, and new installations.

  • Working closely with engineers and operations teams to resolve issues.
