We're looking for Male Support Workers to support a young man who lives in his own home.
He requires 1:1 support both in his own home, when out and about in the community and attending services for his faith. As part of his learning disability he showcases complex, challenging behaviour and mental health needs. You'll work along with our Behaviour Support Team and a number of local authority teams to help with maintaining the quality of support.
Most of his activities are based around his faith but he does like to swim so being confident in the water is a requirement for the role along with holding a full UK/EU driving licence as he lives in a remote part of St. Albans so is need to use the car to get about.
We're hoping to get him involved with more activities so would like for the Support Worker to help him engage and show interest in a variety of things to what he already does.
His family, the community of his religion and the Spiritual Leader plays a huge part in his life, so will require help with maintaining these relationships.
The shift patterns are from 7am -2.30pm or 2.30pm-10pm followed by a sleep in, along with alternative weekends and working occasional bank holiday.
