The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for working effectively as part of a group of technical support professionals providing services to a federal agency. The SharePoint Developer provides competent leadership in the administration and maintenance of enterprise document management systems and applications in compliance with the organization's policy and guidance of documents. Other responsibilities include the following:
May lead and/or prepare technical seminars and presentations.
Govern the management of electronic documents through monitoring document management systems (hardware and software).
Acquires and installs new system content/document management systems
Acts as the technical point of contact with Vendor technical and product management groups in order to further enhance the EDM product suite.
Serves as a primary point of contact to the EDM vendor’s customer support team(s) and ensures all application patches and system upgrades are planned and carried out to maximize system availability and performance.
Shares best practices in the Enterprise Document Management space and provides technical leadership on EDM software by acting as a subject matter expert.
Administer, monitor and manage SharePoint server farms Plan for and install service packs, hotfixes, updates and patches during off-peak time as required and communicate any downtime to business.
Deploy new capabilities including Web Parts, Features and Console Applications to the SharePoint Servers.
Manage SharePoint permissions for the entire site collection.
Implement best practices for administering and securing the servers and networks Coordinate and Perform periodic Disaster Recovery Testing.
Maintain, manage and report on the farm, web, application, index, query and database servers in accordance with best practices.
Analyze and assess existing environment and procedures for areas of improvement.
Develop and follow maintenance schedules for stakeholders which requirement regular archiving of artifacts.
Monitor and maintain health of mission critical systems Monitor data integrity and performance of systems.
Skills & Experience:
Understanding of SharePoint administration including management of service applications, web applications, site collection administration, solution deployment, and backup/restore via Central Administration and PowerShell.
Five (5) years of SharePoint Administration experience. Good understanding of Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS.
Experience with configuring, maintaining and managing SQL Server 2012 in a SharePoint environment.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint issues in a production environment.
Experience in backup and restore of the SharePoint portals, site collections, sites, lists and libraries.
Experience with DocAve is a plus.
BS or MS Degree in IT field.
10+ years’ experience in managing enterprise content and enterprise platforms.
5+ years’ experience administrating and managing SharePoint-based content solutions.
5+ years’ experience designing and deployment PowerShell scripts in the infrastructure, while maintaining a secure and robust environment per established procedures and standards
Ability to communicate with teammates and clients, encourage acceptance of ideas, and articulate basic and advanced technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
Adept in building and leading a team - collaboration, facilitation, consulting and negotiation skills
Excellent oral/written communications skills
Customer centric and have the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
