A Production Engineer to join a manufacturing business in Bristol. You will drive operational excellence across our production operations. Description
- Develop and refine production processes, work instructions, and tooling specifications
- Drive long-term improvement strategies to enhance productivity and quality
- Support smooth introduction of new products from design into manufacturing
- Utilise Creo to update and optimise technical drawings, 3D models, and assemblies
- Manage design changes and product data using Windchill PLM systems
- Coach operators and technicians on best practices, new procedures, and equipment use
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and design tools to improve workplace safety and efficiency
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to optimise workflow and reduce waste
- Lead investigations into production issues using structured root cause analysis methods
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and drive cost reductions
Profile
A successful Production Engineer should have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or a related field.
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and quality standards.
- Proficiency in using engineering and manufacturing software tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- An understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficient in Creo 3D CAD software
- Experience with Windchill or similar Product Lifecycle Management systems
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and design for manufacture (DFM)
- Demonstrated success in delivering process improvements and cost reductions
- Ability to coach, mentor, and influence operators and technicians
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of ergonomics and practical application in manufacturing environments
Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and production documentation
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Experience in coffee machine or similar consumer appliance sector
