Work location will be 90% off site, 10% at the 825 Jadwin -Federal Building in Richland, WA. The Federal Building and work location within the building requires badging.
INTRODUCTION / BACKGROUND
Environmental Integration Services seeks an experienced Environmental Scientist with air dispersion modeling experience to assist the non-rad air permitting subject matter expert with focused air dispersion modeling projects as directed by the U.S. Department of Energy Richland Operations Office (DOE-RL).
Provide support as needed estimated to be up to 20 hours a week throughout the life of the contract and set forth herein.
The Environmental Scientist will assist the non-rad air permitting subject matter expert with Hanford Site air dispersion modeling projects, as directed by the U.S. Department of Energy Richland Operations Office (DOE-RL).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK – SPECIFIC
The Environmental Scientist will assist with various tasks related to air dispersion modeling assessments across the Hanford Site. Work scope includes, but is not limited to
• developing emissions estimates calculations and documentation
• running air dispersion models using US EPA AERMOD
• researching public health risk procedures
• developing health assessment documentation
• presenting information to various audiences
• composing technical reports.
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or equivalent in the Environmental field, or a combination of education and experience in the Environmental Science field.
Five or more years’ experience in the environmental field, including review of sampling data and performing compliance determinations, of which at least one or more years is in air dispersion modeling and air quality compliance.
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment including direct involvement with customer.
Subcontractor shall ensure that its personnel meet and maintain the appropriate training, qualifications, and certification requirements as applicable.
Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
Strong customer relationship skills.
Experience and professional training in the air dispersion model, AERMOD, and documented modeling of Hanford Site specific emission sources.
Working knowledge of Hanford site operations and data sources.
Site Access and Work Hours
Hanford personnel at the Hanford Site work a standard 4/10 schedule. The standard work week consist of ten (10) hours of work between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with one-half hour designated as an unpaid period for lunch, Monday through Thursday. Work performed outside normal operating hours shall be coordinated and/or approved through the BTR and/or the contract Specialist prior to performing the work.
