We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, working within lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4), specifically supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in children's lives and assisting them in overcoming challenges to achieve their educational goals.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support the educational and social development of children in Years 3 and 4 under the direction and guidance of the headteacher and class teachers.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of learning activities specifically tailored to children with SEN.
- Work closely with other professionals such as SEN coordinators to ensure all learning and care needs are met.
- Monitor and support the progress of children, providing feedback and assistance to ensure they achieve their full potential.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy educational environment, adapting to the needs of children with SEN.
- Engage with children to foster relationships built on trust and respect.
- Assist with the development of social skills and encourage children to interact with others.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably with SEN children.
- Strong understanding of the educational needs and challenges faced by children in lower Key Stage 2.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to supporting children with additional needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to create a supportive learning environment.
