Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants needed - New Forest

Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a lasting difference in children's lives? A highly respected specialist school in the New Forest is seeking dedicated individuals to join their supportive team, with opportunities leading to a permanent contract for the right candidates.

About the Role:

This rewarding position involves working closely with children and young people aged between 4 and 19, supporting a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, including autism spectrum condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and complex learning challenges.

You will be supporting students in both classroom and one-to-one settings, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured environment. The different key stages are taught across different sites, according to your experience you will be placed with the appropriate age range.

Location: Various sites across the New Forest area
Contract Type: Temp to permanent position
Working Hours: Full-time (term-time only)
Start Date: Immediate or September opportunities
The school operates across several sites, and you will be placed according to your experience and your preferred age group (Primary, Secondary or Post-16). Each site offers tailored educational programmes to suit the individual developmental needs of the students.

Day-to-day tasks in the role include supporting pupils with their learning in both individual and group settings, promoting positive behaviour, and helping to implement individual education and behaviour plans. You will also be expected to support teaching staff with classroom organisation, as well as contribute to creating a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Prior experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for inclusive education
The ability to adapt to varied and dynamic learning environments
Essential Requirements:

A valid Child Workforce Enhanced DBS, registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one at your own cost)
Eligibility to work in the UK
