French Teacher - Cardiff

Job Role Summary - French Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and dedicated French Teacher to join our vibrant Modern Foreign Languages department. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a passion for languages, while ensuring high standards of teaching and learning from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.

French Teacher - Key Responsibilities:

· Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons in line with the national curriculum.

· Teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, adapting materials to meet diverse student needs.

· Monitor, assess, and report on student progress.

· Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student development.

· Participate in departmental meetings, training, and whole-school initiatives.

· Contribute to the extracurricular life of the school, including language clubs or trips.

Qualifications & Skills Required

· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or successful completion of PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training) or Teach First or equivalent routes

· Experience teaching French at secondary level (Key Stages 3 and 4); Key Stage 5 experience would be beneficial

· Strong subject knowledge and passion for the French Language

· Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

· Understanding of effective assessment strategies and progress tracking

· Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities

· Excellent classroom management skills

· A commitment to continuous professional development

· Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities and the wider school community
