Examinations Manager

We are seeking an Examinations Manager to lead and manage our Examination teams across a large FE College Group based in Manchester. This role is crucial for the accurate and timely processing of all examination entries, ensuring compliance with JCQ and awarding body requirements, and managing key college policies and procedures related to examinations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Lead the staff in the Examinations and Registry Teams, adapting to changing procedures and requirements.
  • Ensure all students are registered and entered correctly with the appropriate Awarding Organisation(s).
  • Manage the examinations budget, ensuring no overspend and maintaining robust controls and procedures.
  • Supervise the Examinations Team Leader and support the team in managing invigilation and examination processes.
  • Develop and review processes and procedures to maintain and improve the efficiency of college systems in relation to exams and accreditation.
  • Lead on enrolment activities and exams planning meetings to ensure a successful examination period.
  • Ensure compliance with all examination board regulations and manage the secure submission of papers and coursework.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 4/+ qualification or equivalent, with Maths & English at Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing examinations and detailed knowledge of invigilation processes and JCQ regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to think ahead, prioritise and organise work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to relate effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change within a busy team environment.
