Company: COBALT RECRUITMENT

Job Type: Permanent, FullTime

Salary: £33,500 - £36,000 per annum

Cobalt is pleased to be supporting a local authority in the South of England in the appointment of an Assistant Facilities Manager. This is a pivotal operational role, reporting into the Senior FM and supporting the management of a diverse civic and commercial portfolio as well as leading a small team responsible for delivering high-quality, customer-focused FM services across a broad estate.

This is an ideal step up for someone looking to consolidate their management experience and take ownership of people and property operations in a varied, rewarding environment.

Key responsibilities within this hybrid role include:

  • Supporting the delivery of hard and soft FM across a mixed portfolio

  • Line managing Cleaning Supervisors and Maintenance Operatives

  • Managing common areas and building infrastructure to ensure safety and compliance

  • Overseeing maintenance scheduling, contractor supervision, and remedial works

  • Ensuring health and safety legislation and documentation is adhered to across all sites

  • Assisting in the delivery of long-term maintenance strategies and asset planning

  • Contributing to a high-performing and collaborative facilities team culture

Cobalt is looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager who is looking to build on their foundation of knowledge in the industry. You'll have prior experience helping to run a building (or portfolio of buildings) in their entirety including common areas and shared services rather than just purely tenanted spaces. Ideally you will have experience in line managing people directly, rather than just contractors, and whilst an IOSH is desired, it is not essential.

Experience within all sectors will be considered

This organisation offers a strong work-life balance, a values-led culture, and access to excellent benefits. Beyond the salary, this role offers a hybrid working pattern with two days from home per week, generous annual leave provisions, strong pension schemes, training & development opportunities, in addition to extra health & wellbeing benefits.
