The Role

A specialist SEMH school in Essex is seeking a dedicated and adaptable teacher to join their team from September. This role will focus primarily on delivering Science and Humanities subjects across a small cohort of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher-whether from a primary or secondary mainstream background-to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Science and Humanities

Build strong, positive relationships with students, supporting both academic and emotional development

Contribute to a supportive team environment, working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff

Maintain high expectations for behaviour and progress, using restorative and trauma-informed approaches

Take part in a structured handover period to ensure a smooth transition into the role

Who We're Looking For

QTS or relevant teaching qualification (primary or secondary)

Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, particularly SEMH, is desirable

Strong communication, resilience, and the ability to adapt to varied learning needs

A team player with a calm and consistent approach to classroom management

Passionate about inclusive education and supporting the whole child
