Behaviour Support Mentor required to work at a small, specialised primary school in Bournemouth, supporting pupils aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often including autism. The setting offers a modern environment with purpose-built classrooms, sensory rooms, therapy hubs, a sports hall, outdoor learning spaces, and up‑to‑date IT facilities. 

With typically seven children per class and high staffing ratios, the academy fosters a nurturing atmosphere rooted in its core values: Resilient, Safe, and Respectful. 

About the role:

Support the learning process - primarily this includes working with individuals and/or small groups to resolve difficulties causing concern as quickly as possible so as to promote learning at all times

To work with the teachers to ensure and promote effective behaviour support

To liaise with parents regarding behavioural issues as required in consultation with the Behaviour for Learning Team Leader, Vice Principal and Assistant Vice Principal

Person Specification

GCSE Maths & English Grade C or equivalent

Team Teach Training or a willingness to undertake)

Previous experience working in a school

Previous experience of working with young people who demonstrate Trauma ACE related presentation

Good sense of humour

Full clean driving licence, use of own car and business insurance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
