Our client is now seeking a Category Purchasing Manager for their busy team. The role is suited to an individual who has developed excellent procurement skills, seeking to develop their career to the next level and gain further insight into work undertaken through a dedicated medical device, procurement function.

Your role:

Initial focus will be to support catalogue projects and procurement activities to ensure in-year value-add initiatives are achieved on schedule, with procurement savings delivered through the business unit.

You will have strong experience in negotiating supplier contracts, prices, and savings, delivered via multiple avenues.

Additionally, support and deliver a robust procurement service for the business and contribute significantly to the delivery of procurement projects within the UK market, sustainable cost improvements, and the provision of a wide range of associated benefits.

Meet stakeholder requirements, through procurement best practise, demonstrating value for money, including compliance with category priorities and contracts, and by actively improving strategic development of supplier and contract management.

Improve procurement function by analysing current spend, to advance the development of tactical procurement, enabling the delivery of sustainable cost efficiencies and savings. Deliver key reports to senior management/directors.

The role will require excellent analytical, influencing, negotiation and project management skills, in addition to your ability to deliver incremental value from existing suppliers (external) and processes (internal).

The role is based at their head office near Reading and may require some travel to other UK sites as and when necessary to support procurement colleagues and operations staff.
The person:

Essential

CIPS or equivalent qualified or working towards

Experience in Cost Management, SRM, CRM and Performance Improvement

Proven ability to work successfully in a fast paced multi-disciplinary environment

Competency in MS Office Suite (Excel essential)
Desirable

CMI started/working towards

Post-graduate vocational qualification or working towards

3 years supervisory experience within an integrated service delivery supply chain, including consumables and material management
