14 month Contract

Our client based in Ossett is looking for an experienced Purchasing Assistant to cover maternity until December 2023.

Key responsibilities:

• Ongoing assessment of minimum stock and order replenishment levels, checking for unexpected shortages

• Produce purchase orders

• Manage purchase orders and monitor their progress to ensure that stock arrives at the warehouse on time

• Follow up any problems with damaged, missing or incomplete stock deliveries
• Liaise with accounts department to sign off invoices and resolve any invoice queries

• Liaise between customers and suppliers to manage product faults
• Repacking jobs - prioritise the repacking of bulk items in stock

• Support staff with supplier queries

• Update costings on Sage X3 computer system to ensure correct prices at all times

• Administration of Sage X3 stock management - stock adjustments, codes, transfers, discounts

• Liaise with marketing regarding offers, new products
• Assist the commercial manager with the tender process

• Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines and regulations
• Support the commercial manager

Essential skills:

• Good communication skills both verbal and written

• Organisation and time management skills

• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

• Attention to detail

• Computer Literacy Skills - MS Office, previous experience of a Sage system is desirable but not essential
